The highlight of the event was the one-month celebration and official debut of baby Cacao, a miniature pony born on March 11, 2026, to parents Thị Mai and Văn Mai. After one month, Cacao has developed well, showing agility, playful energy, and a strong ability to adapt to its living environment.
At birth, Cacao weighed around 12 kilograms and now weighs approximately 21 kilograms. Cacao’s current height and body length are 65 centimeters and 51 centimeters, respectively. Cacao’s healthy development is the result of scientific care and close monitoring by the veterinary team at Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens, and is also a positive sign for breeding and conservation efforts.
Alongside the celebration, the event also marked the birthday of Vú Sữa (born April 13, 2023), an energetic and friendly miniature pony, and Bánh Mì (born April 13, 2017), an intelligent hyena representing the African animal group. This combination offered visitors a diverse and lively perspective on the animal world.
During the event, visitors had the opportunity to interact with veterinarians and animal care staff, learning about the process of raising young animals, their nutritional needs, and the distinctive behaviors of each species. It was a valuable chance for guests, especially children, to gain a deeper understanding of animal care and conservation work in a zoo environment.
Through this event, Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens hopes to convey the message that animals are living beings with emotions who deserve respect and protection. Providing conditions for animals to develop naturally, combined with experiential education, helps build public awareness, especially among younger generations, about protecting nature and biodiversity.
