With a diverse system of attractions, combined with animal behavior presentations, interactive animal encounters, educational storytelling sessions, and weekend entertainment programs, Saigon Zoo & Botanical Gardens offers visitors of all ages a well-rounded experience that is both enjoyable and meaningful, while also promoting education, conservation, and lasting human values.

 

EXPERIENTIAL ATTRACTIONS

Butterfly Garden

Step into a colorful world filled with hundreds of fluttering butterflies, where nature reveals its most delicate and poetic side.

Opening hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

 

Flamingo Garden

A peaceful and elegant space where graceful flocks of flamingos move across the water, creating relaxing moments and beautiful photo opportunities.

Tuesday – Thursday: 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM | 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Saturday & Sunday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM | 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Note: Closed on weekdays for enclosure disinfection and animal welfare management.

Children’s Petting Zoo

A friendly space specially designed for children, where they can feed goats and sheep while learning to love and respect animals.

Opening hours: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Saturday & Sunday only)

Friendly Animal Garden

A chance to meet gentle animal friends such as capybaras, guinea pigs, and North American squirrels, offering close-up and memorable experiences for the whole family.

Zoological and Botanical Museum

An exhibition space where visitors can gain a deeper understanding of the natural world, ecosystems, and conservation work.

Quan Nhan Huong Historic Site

A heritage site preserving part of the city’s heroic past, once known as a secret base of the Saigon Special Forces, linking the natural journey with cultural and historical values.

 

ZOOBIZ IDOL PARADE – A COLORFUL WEEKEND HIGHLIGHT

Accompanied by lively music, friendly “residents” such as goats, sheep, miniature horses, parrots, and geese come together in a special parade, walking alongside the slowly moving train through the zoo’s green surroundings. The result is a joyful atmosphere and unforgettable moments for visitors.

Time: 9:30 AM – 10:00 AM, every Saturday

 

ANIMAL BEHAVIOR PRESENTATIONS

These presentations are not simply performances for entertainment. They are valuable opportunities for visitors to witness firsthand how animal care, training, and health checks are carried out under the guidance of professional staff.

From elephants and hippos to Bengal tigers, each activity helps spread the message of respect for life and wildlife conservation.

  • Bo and Ny the elephants: 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM; 2:30 PM – 3:15 PM (Tuesday to Saturday)
  • Chuong and Tom the elephants: 9:00 AM – 9:30 AM (Saturday and Sunday)
  • Ca’s hippo family: 9:30 AM – 9:45 AM (Saturday and Sunday)
  • Dzít the pygmy hippo: 3:00 PM – 3:15 PM (Saturday and Sunday)
  • Bengal tiger Dương: 3:00 PM – 3:10 PM (Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)
  • Bengal tiger Bò Sữa: 3:10 PM – 3:15 PM (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday)

 

 

 

ANIMAL ENCOUNTER PROGRAMS

Visitors have the opportunity to observe, interact with, feed, and capture memorable moments with a variety of animals.

Close-up experiences with gibbons, peafowl, raccoons, rhinos, crocodiles, giraffes, and more bring not only joy and excitement, but also a deeper understanding of each species’ behavior, lifestyle, and conservation value.

  • Yellow-cheeked gibbons and storks: 9:00 AM – 9:15 AM (daily)
  • Peafowl: 9:30 AM – 9:45 AM (Saturday and Sunday)
  • Raccoons: 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM (Saturday and Sunday)
  • Bo the rhino: 2:00 PM – 2:15 PM (Saturday and Sunday)
  • Crocodiles: 2:00 PM – 2:15 PM (Saturday and Sunday)
  • Giraffes: 2:30 PM – 2:45 PM (Saturday and Sunday)
  • Xám tiger (tug-of-war activity): 2:00 PM – 2:10 PM (the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month). On the other Saturdays, a tiger feeding session will take place instead.
 

“ZOO STORYTIME” – LEARNING THROUGH PLAY 📖

Through lively and engaging stories, this program helps children and families discover animals, nature, and conservation in a way that is easy to understand, memorable, and inspiring.

Every Saturday:

  • Flamingo Garden: 9:30 AM
  • Raccoon area: 10:00 AM

Sunday:

  • 2:00 PM: Rhino area and Crocodile Garden
 

WEEKEND MUSIC, CIRCUS, AND VARIETY SHOWS

Weekends at Saigon Zoo & Botanical Gardens become even more festive with music performances, circus acts, and magic shows, bringing laughter, surprise, and full family entertainment.

Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Saturday and Sunday)
